Vlog Tool to Enhance Speaking Ability

Vlog, which stands for video blogging, is quite popular on the internet. Vlog is deemed as a learning tool that is familiar and adaptable to be incorporated into language learning activities, notably for speaking practice. Therefore, this research is undertaken to investigate the progress in students' speaking skills after implementing the vlog in speaking activities. Creating vlogs is considered to help students practice English by expressing their ideas, thoughts, and feelings in an intense and enjoyable way. The aim is to determine the efficacy of vlog tasks in developing students' speaking skills. This research is categorized as quasi-experimental through the use of pre-test and post-test designs. The result indicates that there is a significant difference in speaking performance between the students who are taught with vlog media perform better than the students who are not taught with vlogs. Based on the result of this study, the researcher concluded that utilizing vlogs is effective to encourage students develop their speaking skills.
