Abstract

This quasi-experimental study examined the effect of Quizizz on student motivation in an online Panitikang Filipino course during the Academic Year 2022-2023. Experts validated a researcher-developed questionnaire with a 1-5 Likert scale to assess students' motivation. Before and after the intervention phase in class, results revealed that students’ level of motivation in both groups, the lecture-discussion and Quizizz, was very high, and they were highly motivated to study and participate in the course. The findings showed no significant difference in motivation between students in the two groups. Moreover, the results show that Quizizz can be used alongside the lecture-discussion method to boost students’ motivation to learn in a Filipino literature course.
