Assessing Instructional Effectiveness of Faculty at Mindoro State University Laboratory High School

Abstract

Teaching effectiveness is crucial for student success, heavily influenced by the quality of faculty training. This study evaluates the teaching effectiveness of faculty members in the Laboratory High School Department at Mindoro State University, Calapan City. It also examines their professional backgrounds, focusing on commitment, subject matter knowledge, fostering independent learning, and managing learning environments. Utilizing descriptive and evaluative research methods, data were collected through a Questionnaire Checklist, adopting the Faculty Evaluation Instrument (QCE of the NBC No. 461) for assessment. Key findings reveal that the faculty members are qualified professionals with maximum educational qualifications and eligibility for state universities. Although only a few graduated with honors or attended national and international training, their teaching effectiveness was rated as Outstanding based on student evaluations. This highlights the faculty's capability and the importance of continued professional development in enhancing teaching quality.
