Motherhood-related career pauses among nurses remain an underexplored phenomenon despite their implications for professional identity, workforce participation, and long-term nursing workforce sustainability. Nurses who temporarily step away from clinical practice to assume full-time caregiving responsibilities may experience challenges related to identity, emotional well-being, professional continuity, and future workforce reintegration.
