Abstract

This study determined the effectiveness of the leadership styles employed by the school heads in addressing school management challenges in the public elementary schools in the Division of City Schools, Iriga City during the School Year 2025–2026. Specifically, it examined the extent to which leadership styles such as autocratic, democratic, laissez faire, transformational, transactional, and servant leadership were manifested by school heads in managing school operations. It also determined the extent to which these leadership styles were effective in addressing school management challenges in terms of teacher motivation and performance, resource management, learners’ discipline and behavioral concerns, parental and community involvement, implementation of educational reforms and innovations, and communication and collaboration within the school. Furthermore, the study determined the level of agreement among the respondents regarding the ranking of the leadership styles and their effectiveness in addressing school management challenges in the public elementary schools within the Division of City Schools, Iriga City. In this study, a total of ninety-four (94) Elementary Teachers and School Heads from the Thirty-three (33) public elementary schools in the Division of Iriga City who served as respondents who participated in the study. The statistical tools used were weighted mean, verbal interpretation, frequency count, Kendall Coefficient of Concordance W and its corresponding Chi-Square. The level of significance was set 0.05.
